Hello Class of 2027 Parents/Students:
I hope your child’s school year is going well! In the academic life of your 10th grade student, this is a very important and transitional year where decisions must be made. Your child has entered year five (the final year) of the IB Middle Year (MYP) Programme and in a few months will be deciding on what they would like to pursue for the remainder of their high school years.
The NAHS 10th grade Counselor, IB MYP Coordinator, and IB CP/DP Coordinator, recognize the importance of being prepared so you and your child can make the BEST decision for a smooth transition to continue their education within the IB continuum junior/senior year, entering the IB Diploma Diploma (DP) or Career-related (CP) Programme or IB Course Selection. Our mantra at NAHS is “IB for ALL.”
Because there are many academic options available, we do recognize that some students may opt to enter non-IB programs based on their personal goals and interests like taking AP courses, Dual Enrollment, Atlanta College/Career Academy (ACCA), Work-Based Learning, etc. Therefore, this Fall we will host several mandatory informational parent nights and host parent meetings to ensure that you are aware of the “options” and that your child makes the most of the opportunities available during the sophomore year.
